Jamarcea Plater Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Captain Shreve's Jamarcea Plater, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Plater's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 175 rushing yards dating back to last season. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards.
Captain Shreve's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. Plater and Captain Shreve will challenge Evangel Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Ben Taylor Delivers Best Performance of Season
Airline was led to victory by Ben Taylor, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Taylor threw for 573 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 71.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards on only five carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now passed for four or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
Taylor and Airline will square off against Parkway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last time Taylor took on the Panthers, he threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Christian Maxie Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Byrd came up short on Thursday despite Christian Maxie delivering his best game to date. Maxie rushed for 291 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (137.4). He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.
The defeat snapped Byrd's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-1 record. Maxie and Byrd are on the road again on Friday to play Huntington at 7:00 p.m.

Airline was led to victory by Jarvis Davis, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Davis picked up 271 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The performance once again pushed his average receiving yardage north of 100 yards per game (132.2).
This season, Davis has caught 6 touchdowns while averaging 132.2 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 83.8 receiving yards per game.

Kenny Darby Delivers Electric Performance Vs Captain Shreve
Another Airline player making an appearance on this list is Kenny Darby. He picked up 154 receiving yards and four touchdowns. His receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 117 receiving yards dating back to last season.
This year, Darby has caught 10 touchdowns while averaging 166 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 52.2 receiving yards per game.
