The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats posted their biggest victory since December 7, 2023 on Friday. Everything went their way against Yorktown as Skidmore-Tynan made off with a 65-43 victory. Given Skidmore-Tynan's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 740th, while Yorktown is ranked 1666th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Skidmore-Tynan to victory were Cole Rivers and Bennett Martinez. Rivers scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists, while Martinez scored 19 points along with five steals. Rivers hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Garza, who scored ten points.
Skidmore-Tynan has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 18-4 record this season. As for Yorktown, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Skidmore-Tynan will head out on the road to face off against Three Rivers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Three Rivers' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Yorktown, they will be playing at home against Woodsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodsboro is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
