The Highland Park Giants lost against the Maine West Warriors back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Highland Park took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maine West. That's two games in a row now that Highland Park has lost by exactly ten points.
Several Giants players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julia Leshtz, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mckenzie Reitmayer, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Highland Park and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Maine West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.
Highland Park won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Regina Dominican at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Regina Dominican will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak alive. Maine West will take on Niles North at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
