The Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Teays Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bloom-Carroll focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Bloom-Carroll was able to grind out a solid win over Fairfield Union, taking the game 45-37. Given Bloom-Carroll's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Fairfield Union is ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Emily Bratton was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tessa Brooks, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Teays Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Archbishop Hoban.
Bloom-Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Teays Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.
Bloom-Carroll beat Teays Valley 46-37 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Bloom-Carroll have another victory up their sleeve, or will Teays Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
