Despite the loss, Tri-State Christian had strong showings from Alice Udelhofen, who scored no points along with seven steals, and Makayla Zelle, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Udelhofen grabbed two or more steals.
Unity Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Merema led the charge by scoring six points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Merema posted eight or more assists. Maddy Wilbur was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Tri-State Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Unity Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Morning Star Academy the next time they take the court. Tri-State Christian will host Morning Star Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Unity Christian will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
