Baseball Recap: Breck Wins Going Away Against Academy of Holy Angels

Breck gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against the Academy of Holy Angels Stars as they made off with a 14-3 win. Considering the Mustangs have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Breck got a massive performance out of Garret Trench, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Mitchell, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Breck has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Academy of Holy Angels, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Breck will welcome Park Center/Columbia Heights/Maranatha at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Academy of Holy Angels, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
