The Frewsburg Bears will face off against the Maple Grove Red Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maple Grove took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Frewsburg, who comes in off a win.
Frewsburg's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Westfield as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Maddox Sheesley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Weaver, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Mason Eckman was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Frewsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westfield only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Maple Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 13-2 to Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 25, 2024, but that streak is no more.
Frewsburg pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Maple Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Frewsburg beat Maple Grove 9-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
