The Franklinton Rams came tearing into Tuesday's game with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Southern Nash at home to the tune of 63-32. Franklinton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Franklinton was led to victory by Rihanna Hunt and Mikayla Taborn. Hunt scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Taborn dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taborn has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Burton, who scored 11 points.
Franklinton's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Southern Nash, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklinton will square off against Roanoke Rapids at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roanoke Rapids focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Wednesday. As for Southern Nash, they will head out on the road to square off against Nash Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Nash Central and Southern Nash are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
