Meade is 8-2 against Northeast since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Meade Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Northeast Eagles at 6:45 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Meade comes in on three and Northeast on six.
In what's become a running theme this season, Meade gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They put the hurt on North County with a sharp 67-45 victory. Given Meade's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while North County is ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meade relied on the efforts of Ashton Turman, who scored 15 points, and Josh Holmes, who scored 17 points. Turman is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Lucaya Baldridge was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, even though Annapolis scored an imposing 66 points on Monday, Northeast still came out on top. Northeast took down Annapolis 81-66.
Meade is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Northeast, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Meade skirted past Northeast 61-58 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meade since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
