The biggest upset of the week belonged to Waskom, who took down 400th ranked Waskom, 30-20.
Hughes Springs extended the longest winning streak in 2A-2 Region III District 9 this week by beating Ore City, 52-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Mustangs.
Elysian Fields's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trevor Spear threw for 192 and three touchdowns and Don Deramus had 69 yards receiving. On the ground Tanner Davis chipped in 110 yards.
Shaquille Grant made the biggest impact on defense this week as Linden-Kildare lost to the Yellowjackets. The senior forced one fumble and recorded one fumble.
Elysian Fields' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Yellowjackets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Spear has thrown for 404 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Christian Smith has eight catches for 169 yards. Davis leads the league in rushing with 292 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Elysian Fields takes on the Rebels. Eric King's team's offense has recorded 116 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Ore City has permitted only 181 on the year.
A big matchup in 2A-2 Region III District 9 this week will be when New Diana takes on Hughes Springs. The Eagles are in fifth place, while Chris Edwards's team is in first place.
New Diana moved up to 378 from 544 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Roger Adams's team climbed the ranks as a result of a 30-20 win over the Wildcats.
