It was a good run, but Cape Fear Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 48-33 bruising from the Jacksonville Cardinals. The game marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Cape Fear Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Avery Hixon, who posted six points. Addie Fikry was another key player, putting up no points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.

Jacksonville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izabella Hernandez, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points and six rebounds. Hernandez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kelize Velez-Galan, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Cape Fear Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Jacksonville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Cape Fear Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-29 loss against Ashley on the 30th. As for Jacksonville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-40 victory against Myers Park on the 30th.
