Laurel Highlands' lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Koffler, who scored 15 points. Jaden Ringer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Derry's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Laurel Highlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Derry will square off against Yough at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Laurel Highlands, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seneca Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
