After losing to the Pickens County Tornadoes the last time they met, the Aliceville Yellowjackets decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Aliceville walked away with a 66-53 win over Pickens County on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Aliceville.
Aliceville had a senior duo take command as Keanthony Wilder scored 30 points along with six rebounds and Tyquan Simon scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilder has scored all season. Tony Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Aliceville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Pickens County, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Aliceville will stay at home for another game and welcome Marion at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Marion is ranked 232nd, while Aliceville is ranked 234th). As for Pickens County, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Spirit Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
