They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-33 walloping at the hands of South Loup. Sandhills Valley has struggled against South Loup recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Sandhills Valley still got an impressive performance from Cooper Layher, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Goosey, who scored eight points.
Sandhills Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for South Loup, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.
Sandhills Valley will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Twin Loup at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Twin Loup is ranked 217th, while Sandhills Valley is ranked 202nd). As for South Loup, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mullen.
