Perry Central has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The North Posey Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
After only six points in their last game, Perry Central made sure to put some points up on the board against Mitchell on Friday. Perry Central breezed by Mitchell on the road to the tune of 47-7.
Sawyer Guillaume got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 172 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries. Guillaume is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Edwards, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, North Posey had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past Pike Central 70-0 on the road. Given North Posey's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Pike Central is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jed Galvin was on fire: he rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Colton Gardner was another key contributor, rushing for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Their wins bumped Perry Central to 5-4 and North Posey to 8-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Perry Central commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like North Posey struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.6 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
