Lexington and Rogers are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Lexington Golden Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rogers Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Lexington: they have been struggling with 18 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Rogers has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
On Friday, Lexington came up short against East Limestone and fell 9-4.

Jacob Nava was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Aiden Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.
Even though they lost, Lexington lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Rogers got themselves on the board against Colbert County on Friday, but Colbert County never followed suit. They blew past the Indians 9-0. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by nine runs or more this season.
Griffen Herston was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Herston was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Ticer Wood was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Curtis Campbell, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Rogers' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Lexington was able to grind out a solid win over Rogers in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 7-2. Does Lexington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rogers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
