The Apopka Christian Academy Lions suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 80-48 loss at the hands of Redeemer Christian.
Beau Suarez was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight steals for Redeemer Christian. Suarez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Miller-Edwards, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Apopka Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Redeemer Christian, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apopka Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Innovation Montessori at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Innovation Montessori is ranked 789th, while Apopka Christian Academy is ranked 796th). As for Redeemer Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Seven Rivers Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
