Desert Christian and San Manuel are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Desert Christian Eagles just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the San Manuel Miners at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Desert Christian is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
On Monday, Desert Christian didn't have too much trouble with Benson on the road as they won 53-39. Given Desert Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Benson is ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Desert Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Adam Valvala out in front who scored 14 points along with seven assists and three steals. Valvala is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Bennett Vondrak was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
San Manuel suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 79-5 loss at the hands of The Gregory School. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points San Manuel has scored all season.
Desert Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for San Manuel, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Desert Christian was able to grind out a solid win over San Manuel in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 71-63. Does Desert Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Manuel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
