The Riverside Christian Wranglers won against the St. John Lutheran Saints back in December of 2023 with 58 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Riverside Christian greeted the New Year with with a 58-40 victory over St. John Lutheran. Winning may never get old, but Riverside Christian sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Riverside Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Willie Clines, who scored 20 points along with three steals. The contest was Clines' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Syler Sayers, who scored 17 points.
Despite the loss, St. John Lutheran had strong showings from Brody Gravante, who scored nine points along with five assists, and Bryce Disimile, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Dickerson, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Riverside Christian's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6-1. As for St. John Lutheran, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside Christian will take on Bell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for St. John Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Key at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Key comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
