Montcalm scored first but ultimately less than Mount Hope Christian Academy in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 10-9. Even though they lost, the Generals' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Jake Carver was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Tyler Stevenson was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Nathan Dillow also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Montcalm and nudges their season record down to 1-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Mount Hope Christian Academy, their record now sits at 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montcalm will square off against Greenbrier West at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mount Hope Christian Academy, they will face off against Summit Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. The matchup will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season.
