Football Game Preview: Bishop Amat Lancers vs. Chaminade Eagles + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Bishop Amat will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the Chaminade Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Bishop Amat humbled Upland with a 32-3 victory. That looming 32-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lancers yet this season.

Ryan Salcedo was his usual excellent self, rushing for 144 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 112 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bishop Amat was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 310 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Chaminade can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game last Friday. They walked away with a 35-28 win over Cathedral. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Eagles were the better team in the second half.

Chaminade's win came from a few key players Bishop Amat will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cameron Pooley, who threw for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (157.9). Cameron Blackman handled things on the ground, rushing for 89 yards.

Chaminade picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Bishop Amat, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Bishop Amat couldn't quite finish off Chaminade in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 and fell 38-35. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
