The Wyoming East Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Bluefield at home to the tune of 83-51. Considering Wyoming East has won six matches by more than 22 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Cadence Blackburn was her usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 31 points and 11 assists. The contest was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Clark, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists.
The win was the fourth in a row for Wyoming East, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Bluefield, they bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Wyoming East will be playing at home against Summers County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bluefield's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mercer Christian Academy on January 6th. One thing working in Mercer Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
