Softball Recap: Hardaway's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If Hardaway was feeling good fresh off their 20-10 takedown of Manchester on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks fell just short of the Westover Patriots by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The loss put an end to the Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Daisia Crutchfield was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. Crutchfield is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Deriyanna Henry, who earned two runs and four stolen bases.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hardaway fell to 2-1. As for Westover, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Hardaway and Westover will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Hawks will challenge rival Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Westover is set to take on their familiar foe Cairo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
