Rocklin has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Ponderosa has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Thunder will host the Bruins at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rocklin 1.8, Ponderosa 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Rocklin had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Woodcreek on Monday. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Timberwolves. With that victory, the Thunder brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Rocklin let Addie Titlow and Sammie Snell run wild. Titlow went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Snell went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, Snell posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Williams, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Rocklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodcreek only posted a batting average of .208.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Ponderosa nor Roseville made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bruins walked away with a 6-2 win over the Tigers.
Lauren Klomp looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kate McCartney was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Adams, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Ponderosa's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Rocklin, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rocklin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ponderosa struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Rocklin's way against Ponderosa in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Rocklin made off with a 13-0 victory. Do the Thunder have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bruins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
