North Huron has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the All Saints Central Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, North Huron earned a 54-41 victory over Carsonville-Port Sanilac.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Huron to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wyatt Hoody, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Hoody is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Hunter Krull was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, All Saints Central entered their tilt with Mayville with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. All Saints Central claimed a resounding 66-36 victory over Mayville at home. Given All Saints Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Mayville is ranked 532nd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Huron's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for All Saints Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
North Huron suffered a grim 66-46 defeat to All Saints Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can North Huron avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
