Sal Barranco and Gavin Phelan did most of the damage at the plate: Barranco went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Phelan scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three hits gave Barranco a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Levanda, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Tallassee made easy work of Stanhope Elmore on Monday and carried off a 14-7 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Tigers have posted against the Mustangs since April 3, 2018.
Jack Butler looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brue Milner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Tallassee is undefeated when Milner posts three or more RBI, but 6-8-2 otherwise. Eli Whittington was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Montgomery Catholic's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Tallassee, they now have a winning record of 9-8-2.
Montgomery Catholic might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Tallassee in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Montgomery Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
