Cibola is 2-8 against Cleveland since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Cibola will welcome Cleveland at 4:00 p.m. Cibola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Cibola took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Atrisco Heritage Academy with a sharp 12-2 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Elias Miera tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jacob Escobedo was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Segotta, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Cibola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atrisco Heritage Academy only posted an OBP of .316.

Meanwhile, Cleveland faced Carlsbad in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Cleveland came out on top against Carlsbad by a score of 7-4. Winning may never get old, but the Storm sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Cibola pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cleveland, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Cibola beat Cleveland 5-2 in their previous meeting last Thursday. Does Cibola have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cleveland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
