After a string of five wins, Gulf's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Land O' Lakes Gators. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Gulf lost, don't look at Mikha Brown. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points and five steals. Brown has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Murphy, who put up five points and three steals.
Land O' Lakes found their leader in freshman Nathan Frierson, who earned eight points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Soldano, who had seven points and five assists.
