After a string of six wins, the Whitman Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Milford Mill Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Thursday (59), Whitman still had to take the loss.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Walsh, who scored 13 points. Thomas Farrell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Whitman struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Whitman's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Milford Mill Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Whitman won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Delaware Military Academy at 11:45 a.m. on December 27th. As for Milford Mill Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Kenwood at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
