The Hilliard Red Flashes came tearing into Saturday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fort White 78-43 at home. Hilliard has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for CJ Hall, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Malcom Warthen, who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Hilliard's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23 points. As for Fort White, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.
Hilliard will be playing in front of their home fans against Fernandina Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fernandina Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 315th, while Hilliard is ranked 142nd). Fort White's road trip will continue as they head out to face Oak Hall at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
