The Blountstown Tigers will be playing at home against the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blountstown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Even though FAMU DRS scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Blountstown still came out on top. Blountstown took their contest against the Baby Rattlers 68-57.
Blountstown found their leader in underclassman Cyion Smith, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Aidan Richards, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Port St. Joe's game on Tuesday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They slipped by Arnold 55-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Port St. Joe.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Port St. Joe to victory, but perhaps none more so than JD Becton, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Becton has scored all season. Zay Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Blountstown now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Port St. Joe, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11.
Thursday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Blountstown have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 40.2% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Port St. Joe struggles in that department as they've made 40.6% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
