Basketball Recap: Wayne County Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

If Culleoka wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wayne County, they should've done a better job of containing Cayman Camfield. The Wayne County Wildcats claimed a resounding 77-47 victory over the Culleoka Warriors thanks in part to Camfield, who went 9 of 12 on his way to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The matchup was his tenth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Davis, who went 6 of 7 en route to 14 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Wayne County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Culleoka, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne County and Colbert County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Wayne County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Colbert County likes a good challenge. As for Culleoka, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lewis County at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
