The Fatima Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 58-34 margin over Linn. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-9.
Vivan Bax was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Alli Robertson, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Linn's loss on Wednesday came despite strong showings from Vivien Baker and Kenzy Hackmann. Baker scored 11 points along with five rebounds, while Hackmann scored nine points. Baker continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Even though they lost, Linn were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
The win was the fourth in a row for Fatima, bringing their record for this year to 7-2. As for Linn, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fatima will be home for the holidays to greet Blair Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blair Oaks comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Linn, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Owensville at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th.
