Caledonia-Mumford has struggled against Mount Morris recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Caledonia-Mumford's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nathan Doll, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Donny Peet who scored 18 points. Doll is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.
Chase Young continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mount Morris, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. Young hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Mason Santini, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Caledonia-Mumford has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Mount Morris, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Caledonia-Mumford won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wheatland-Chili at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Wheatland-Chili presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Caledonia-Mumford in New York (Wheatland-Chili is ranked 119th, while Caledonia-Mumford is ranked 643rd). As for Mount Morris, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Houghton Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
