Geneva scaled the state rankings by moving to 236 from 322 this week, the biggest jump in Premier. The Eagles were able to move up by beating Lakeside 49-6.
South added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating University School, 49-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Rebels.
The Preppers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Gannon threw for 119 yards and Grant Bumbu had 69 yards receiving. On the ground Andrew Dorogi contributed 68 yards. Dorogi helped University School's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 31 yards.
Bumbu was the best receiver in the league this week as University School lost to South. Bumbu racked up 6 receptions for 69 yards. Dorogi helped University School's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 31 yards.
University School's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Preppers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Gannon has thrown for 807 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Bumbu has 19 catches for 227 yards.
A big matchup in Premier this week will be when Chardon takes on Matt Duffy's team. At the moment, the Hilltoppers are in sixth, while the Rebels are in first.
South was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Jim Stephens' team. The Rebels came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 32 last week.
