Oakland-Craig typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday West Point-Beemer proved too difficult a challenge. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Oakland-Craig Knights 60-29. The Cadets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.
West Point-Beemer was led to victory by Ian Schiller and Myles Nielsen. Schiller posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks, while Nielsen put up seven points along with five boards and three steals. Those five rebounds gave Nielsen a new career-high. Brayden Doggett was another key player, putting up eight points and nine boards.
West Point-Beemer was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakland-Craig only posted six assists.
Oakland-Craig lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Isaak Maxwell, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Anderson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.
West Point-Beemer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Oakland-Craig, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-6.
Coming up, West Point-Beemer will take on Archbishop Bergan at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Oakland-Craig does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
