The Frederick Fraize Aces's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 11th straight loss. They fell 40-32 to Fort Campbell. Frederick Fraize was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fort Campbell apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Leading Fort Campbell to victory were Madison Newingham and Rosella Rajj. Newingham almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds, while Rajj scored 25 points along with five steals and three blocks. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Rajj has scored at least a third of Fort Campbell's points.
Frederick Fraize dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.6 points per game. As for Fort Campbell, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frederick Fraize will face off against Meade County on Thursday. Meade County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Frederick Fraize in Kentucky (Meade County is ranked 24th, while Frederick Fraize is ranked 253rd). As for Fort Campbell, they will head out on the road to face off against Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fort Campbell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 41 on Saturday.
