The Wauseon Indians will head out on the road to take on the Patrick Henry Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wauseon will be strutting in after a victory while Patrick Henry will be coming in after a loss.
Last Monday, Wauseon beat Evergreen 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Breah Teal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. She also tossed two walks, marking her first of the season.

On the hitting side, Bella McGuire was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrianna Everly, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Wauseon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry suffered their biggest defeat since May 17, 2024 on Monday. They lost 14-1 to Archbold. The Patriots have struggled against the Blue Streaks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Wauseon now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Patrick Henry, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wauseon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .453. However, it's not like Patrick Henry struggles in that department as they've averaged .407. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Wauseon's way against Patrick Henry in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Wauseon made off with an 11-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
