The Keller Indians had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They breezed by Lamar at home to the tune of 71-33. Given Keller's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Lamar is ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Steven Ramirez was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Keller's points. Another player making a difference was Quinn Estep, who scored 14 points.
Keller has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Lamar, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keller will be home for the holidays to greet Southlake Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southlake Carroll is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Lamar will be home for the holidays to greet Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Lamar likes a good challenge.
