The Danville Warriors had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They breezed by Bethesda Christian at home to the tune of 61-23. Considering Danville has won three games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Danville to victory were Maddy Wethington and Emma Ancelet. Wethington scored 23 points, while Ancelet scored 16 points along with 7 assists and 7 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Ancelet has scored at least 25% of Danville's points. Kooper Stone was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 3 steals.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenzie Fulks, who scored 8 points. Fulks scored a full 34.8% of Bethesda Christian's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jayla Ferguson, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds.
Danville has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 6-1 record. As for Bethesda Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Danville will take on Cascade at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cascade will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Danville is ranked 66th). As for Bethesda Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter at 6:00 p.m.
