With a playoff game on the line, the East Central Trojans rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed by Evansville Memorial on the road to the tune of 47-7. East Central's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
It was another big night for Josh Ringer, who rushed for 214 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Ringer is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Dylan Maxwell also helped out as he racked up 117 rushing yards.
Despite the loss, Evansville Memorial saw an underclassman step up: Dylen Kendrick rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Kendrick was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.
East Central's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.2 points. As for Evansville Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
East Central will look to defend their home field on Friday against New Palestine at 7:00 p.m. New Palestine is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Evansville Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
