St. Clement has now lost eight straight games, currently the longest losing streak in the league. The Anchormen lost another two games last week, including a 5-3 defeat against Trinity Catholic.
First place in Catholic Central - Small belongs to
Lowell Catholic, which has compiled a 14-6 overall record to go with its 12-0 league record.
Trinity Catholic sits 3.5 games back in second, with a 9-4 record in league play.
St. Clement's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing eight hits and seven walks to lead the league in both categories. The Anchormen have given up a mere 171 hits on the year, while striking out 121 opposing hitters.
Kevin Foley is the leader in that category with 28 Ks on the season.
