The Teaneck Highwaymen will square off against the Hasbrouck Heights Aviators at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Teaneck took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bergenfield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Highwaymen beat the Bears on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-4. The game was the first time the Highwaymen have beaten the Bears on their field since April 5, 2017.

Olivia Rottner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leanna Guerrero, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Adelyn Perez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Teaneck kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Hasbrouck Heights got the win against Elmwood Park on Friday by a conclusive 9-3. The Aviators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Maddy Connelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Kailen Peterson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Giuliana Terranova was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Hasbrouck Heights' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Teaneck, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Teaneck hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .434. However, it's not like Hasbrouck Heights struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
