It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the West Clermont Wolves ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 win over Lebanon. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win West Clermont has posted yet this season.
West Clermont found their leader in underclassman Maddi Fender, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fender has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Meagyn Riffle, who scored seven points along with six assists and three steals.
West Clermont's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. As for Lebanon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4.
West Clermont will take on Anderson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Anderson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 537th, while West Clermont is ranked 23rd). As for Lebanon, they will head out on the road to face off against Walnut Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Walnut Hills is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
