Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Sean Smith Delivers Best Performance of Season
On Friday, Westlake got the W thanks in part to Sean Smith playing the best football he has all season. Smith threw for 300 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 43 yards. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended a pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Smith and Westlake will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Collins Hill at 7:30 p.m. on November 15th. The Lions got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Eagles, probably because Smith had a solid game then too: he threw for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Zamarcus Lindley Makes It Two for Douglas County
Keeping Bourdeaux company is Zamarcus Lindley, a fellow Douglas County player. He rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards.
For the season, Lindley has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 116.9 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had five rushing touchdowns.
Gamescore: 29.67
The second Westlake player making an appearance here is Travis Smith Jr, and for good reason. He picked up 156 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a rushing score. Westlake is 3-1 when Smith Jr posts 80 or more receiving yards, but 2-4 otherwise.
If the past is any indication, Smith Jr could be in store for another big game when he takes on Collins Hill on Friday. Smith Jr picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Eagles duked it out back in September of 2023.
