The Honoka'a Dragons will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Pahoa Daggers at 5:00 p.m. Honoka'a has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 424 points over their last six games.
Honoka'a pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Kohala at home by a decisive 76-58 margin.
Meanwhile, Pahoa entered their tilt with Hawaii Prep with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pahoa was the clear victor by a 55-29 margin over Hawaii Prep.
Pahoa can attribute much of their success to Hunter Paio, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Paio pulled down eight or more rebounds. Kyran Canete was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Honoka'a's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Pahoa, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Honoka'a against Pahoa when the teams last played back in February of 2022 as the team secured a 80-49 victory. Does Honoka'a have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pahoa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
