Softball Recap: Williams Bay Wins Going Away Against Parkview

Williams Bay's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Parkview Vikings 14-5. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Sarena Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Williams Bay got a massive performance out of Rori Hayes, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Kalie Stanek was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Williams Bay's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Parkview, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams Bay will head out to square off against Living Word Lutheran at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Timberwolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.06 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Parkview, they are taking a road trip to face off against Evansville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
