The Sandpoint Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Friday against the West Valley Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Sandpoint focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday.
Sandpoint had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past Bonners Ferry with points to spare, taking the game 66-47.
Sandpoint's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aliya Strock led the charge by scoring 19 points along with 7 steals and 6 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlie Banks, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, West Valley couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They suffered a tough 48-22 defeat at the hands of Timberlake on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Valley in their matchups with Timberlake: they've now lost three in a row.

Everything came up roses for Sandpoint against West Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 70-27 win. Does Sandpoint have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
