Southwest had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Houston Billeter did his part to make it six on Friday. The Roughriders claimed a resounding 65-30 victory over the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs with plenty of help from Billeter, who threw for 379 yards and six TDs while picking up 15.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 111 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 22 passing touchdowns on the season.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chance Daake, who threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 42 yards and one score. Jordan Scoville also helped out with an impressive 189 receiving yards.

Southwest's record is now 7-0. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Southwest will face off against Paxton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Roughriders will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.86 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wallace at 3:00 p.m. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
