The Crescent City Raiders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 35-6 defeat at the hands of Newberry. Crescent City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Newberry was led to victory by Hayden Moore and Keil Mcgriff. Moore picked up 152 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Mcgriff threw for 293 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes. Zane Spires did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals.
Crescent City has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Newberry, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Crescent City will stay at home for another week and welcome Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Ridgeview comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Newberry, they will head out on the road to face off against Belleview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Belleview comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
